LOUSY SHOW

My wife and I went to see Van Morrison last Friday in Las Vegas. Expensive trip, costly seats, lousy, lousy show. In fact, it was the worst concert I've ever been to. 90 minutes of nothing but his most esoteric songs. He played ONE of his recognizable songs (Into the Mystic and even that was played in a way that we didn't even know what we were hearing until about halfway through the song) and he has nearly 30 great hits. He played only the songs he wanted to play...after all, he is a big name and he can play whatever he wants. Screw the fans. After all, he isn't in the business to entertain the fans, he's in it to entertain himself. Great going Van, thanks for robbing me and the rest of the crowd of a lot of money and a chance to remember you fondly.

VAN PUNKED US

Let’s be real: most everyone was there for his hits and he only played two, (one that’s others say was into the mystic but it was barely recognizable until half way through and the other “Gloria” that was too jammy and long). While he sounded good and his band was tight, he had no stage presence and did not interact with the audience. He only played jazzy bluesy new stuff; none of his hits. Garbage, self-indulgent, boring show. If I wanted to see a jammy jazz band I would have gone to a club. 6 of us rented a limo, drove 2 hours and were pumped to see the legend only to be asking “WTF” half way. Half of the audience left and the other fell asleep. Don’t waste your money.

THE GREEK LOS ANGELES

Music was ok.. didn’t play any of the songs that made him famous. Walked off and never returned. No thank you Van. Didn’t even want to buy a tshirt.

NO PERSONALITY MR. MORRISON:

I had been waiting all my life to hear sing! It took me three hours for your concert and cost me tons of money! I read reviews from Saturday in Santa Bárbara. People complained that VM did not communicate at all with the audience and I agree 100%. VM does not do public singing because he is not a stage singer but a studio singer. The concert was very disappointing and depressing because he did not sing any of his memorable hits. He sang Blues music but the crowd came to hear mostly the Moondance album as well as others. The concert was extremely sad. We all paid so much money to hear the music that he wrote in the past. I truly regret spending so much money for a show that was not entertaining. I will not see him again. I am unemployed and it truly hurt to spend such large amount of money. I have seen from Paul McCartney and Wings, Rolling Stones when I was 21 years old. As a matter of fact I saw about everyone from 70’s to late 90’s. I feel like asking Van Morrison for a refund. The night was horrible but the audience was beyond beautiful!!!

SO DISAPPOINTED

I’ve waited many years to hear Van Morrison and his familiar songs. His musicians were good , but none of the music were his classics. They all sounded the same and I didn’t know any of them. We left early.

DISAPPOINTED TO SAY THE LEAST

How does an artist with a discography of hits not play ONE song that the audience actually knows?!?! I grew up on Van Morrison and was excited when my mom asked me to go with her, but I have never been so disappointed at a concert in my whole life. We didn't pay to to hear a church choir (he didn't even know the name of), a saxophonist and a bunch of old guys do instrument solos for an hour and backup singers completely close out the show. I came for the Van Morrison hits. Not 1 freaking song. Unless you're into the above and his newest album, would not recommend.

SO DISAPPOINTING!

All I wanted was to hear Brown Eyed Girl. He didn’t play his hits at all. I would not recommend seeing this concert to anyone. He does not seem to care at all about his fans. There was no engagement with the audience.
