A Holiday treat that's definitely not for kids
A modern classic, Avenue Q is the brash, ballsy and outrageous parable of figuring out life after college, falling in love, finding a job and paying the bills, with puppets! First premiering in 2003, it ran for six years on Broadway before moving off-Broadway and then heading out on tour, as well as being staged by local theaters around the country. Now the three-time Tony-winning, off-color comedy show that's decidedly NOT for kids heads to Miami in this December, with a wickedly funny story to make you laugh, cry and even groan! Just don't tell your pastor.
Imitating the most famous kids show of all, we meet a unique community that live on the crummy Avenue Q. Cheap and cheerful, this outer-outer borough of New York houses a plethora of colorful and foul-mouthed residents whose opinions on life, the internet and everything are passed on to the earnest Princeton, a new graduate with a B.A in English, but not much else. With original, politically incorrect songs that cover a range of hilarious topics (such as 'The Internet is good for porn' and 'I'm Not Wearing Underwear Today') Avenue Q has carved a comfortable niche in theater comedy canon, with that controversial twist.
