In elegant apartments and ballrooms, four people lie to each other about their whereabouts, all heading to a luxurious dance given by Prince Orlovsky. Chief amongst them is Eisenstein who's about to go to prison for a short stretch, his wife Rosalinde and their maid Adele. Will they recognise each other on the dance-floor or not?
